You were never meant to shrink yourself, you were designed to be girded with strength
Imagine a woman who spent so much time fighting her body that she forgot how to feed her miracle. In reproductive health we often fear the scale, yet your body actually uses stored energy to create the very hormones that trigger life. The invitation today is to stop fighting, and to start nourishing.
Restriction Signals Famine To Your Womb
When you live in a constant state of trying to become smaller, you can unintentionally signal famine to your body. In response, the body protects you by conserving energy and quieting functions it treats as non essential, and reproduction is one of the first things it sets aside in a perceived shortage. Your womb is not being stubborn in these seasons. It is simply responding to a message of scarcity that it was never meant to receive.
Abundance Tells Your Body It Is Safe
This is why the shift from restriction to abundance matters so deeply. When you choose to nourish your system with life giving foods, you tell your nervous system that the environment is ready, safe, and well stocked. You are no longer shrinking. You are strengthening the sanctuary, supplying your body with the very materials it needs to make hormones, support a cycle, and prepare for life.
Trading The Scale For Strength
There is a holy reframe waiting here. By choosing to honour your body, you step out of the weight war and into the promise, making your womb a strong, warm, and well supplied home for the life that is coming. So trade the scale for strength today. Choose a warm, nourishing meal, and eat it slowly and with gratitude, receiving it as an act of care rather than a thing to fear.
Science Says
Reproductive function depends on adequate energy availability. The body needs sufficient stored and consumed energy, including healthy fats, to produce reproductive hormones, and body fat itself contributes to oestrogen production. When energy availability is too low for too long, the brain can downregulate the hormonal signals that drive ovulation and the menstrual cycle, prioritising survival over reproduction until nourishment is restored.
Scripture Says
“She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.” (Proverbs 31:17).
The same scripture that describes a woman girded with strength reflects how the body is designed to be resourced and strong, well nourished and well supplied, so that it has the energy reserves it needs to sustain reproductive life.
You are no longer shrinking. You are strengthening the sanctuary.
A warm, nourishing meal received with gratitude is an act of strength, not surrender
Declaration
I honour my body by feeding it well. As I nourish myself with strength and gratitude, my body increases in strength and vigour. I am not shrinking, I am being made strong, and my womb is a well supplied home prepared for life.
Amen
Your body has never been your enemy, and it was never meant to be fought. It is a sanctuary that responds to kindness, to safety, and to nourishment far more than to pressure. Season after season, choosing to feed yourself well is one of the strongest and most faithful things you can do. So lay down the fight today, eat with gratitude, and let your body grow strong enough to carry every good thing ahead.
